Oh dear, a closing ritual... that actually sounds like something woolly... but is that really it?
I myself love the Rebozo. I've even organised several workshops for birth workers so that they too can get acquainted with this easy but oh so wonderful tool.
The rebozo is a kind of sling from Guatemala/Mexico. There, this cloth is regularly used by midwives during pregnancy and also during childbirth. When you take a pregnancy course with me, I like to share some of these techniques with you!
But the cloth can also be used very well for the closing ritual. From the moment you are pregnant, your body is employed for the growth of your baby. When you give birth, your body literally opens for the birth of your baby. The period after the birth is an intense period where all your energy and attention goes to your baby.
The closing ritual, the name says it all, ensures that you consciously go back to your own body. You can do this ritual from 2 weeks after birth, but I think it's highly recommended to close your maternity period (after 40 days), for example. But you can do this ritual a long time after birth. Even after a year it is still a wonderful relaxation!
